Ambergris Caye hotels

Ambergris Caye has a rich and long history. During the Mayan period, Ambergris Caye was a trading post. Ruins have been excavated throughout the island, including the Marco Gonzales site, the Basil Jones site, and in San Pedro town. Vestige indicates that this Caye was used as a trading center, because of the central location that it has.

This island is located near many reefs and a marine reserve. Some of them have an international recognition as the most important places for scubadiving.  The Great Blue Hole and Hol Chan marine reserve are one of the most visited places.  

Ambergris Caye is a really touristic place. It has many hotels, restaurants, resorts, bars and PADI shops for tourists. Some hotels in San Pedro Belize even offer scubadiving, snorkeling in Belize and other adventure packages. Many people that have visited Belize recommend these packages, mainly because of the great price that some places can offer.
