Ambergris Caye is the largest and most popular island of Belize – lots to do! Weather you wish to wine and dine; dance to the Caribbean beats or take a boat to the reef and snorkel, dive or fish, but if you prefer to simply relax, take stroll on the beach, talk to locals or simply see the sunrise – there is plenty to choose from.
Here is Ambergris Caye’s Yearly Calendar – We have many fun activities throughout the year.
Also, there are many other places to visit, but these are some that we know you may enjoy.
Watch the Sunrise – Watching the sunrise every morning, while having your own freshly brewed coffee, from the comfort of you private balcony at SunBreeze Suites is simply mesmerizing.
Jambel Jerk Pit Restaurant and Bar – SunBreeze Suites Onsite Restaurant “Jambel Jerk Pit” offers dinner buffet every Wednesday with live entertainment from 6:00pm till 9:00pm.
Fido’s Restaurant & Bar – It’s a large open beachfront Palapa in San Pedro Town, opens for lunch and dinner. Offers live entertainment every day except Tuesdays. This is the only place in town where live entertainment starts early 9:00pm and ends early 12:00 midnight. At Fido’s Courtyard you will also find an art gallery with many original Belizean Paintings.
Palapa Bar – If you are adventurous rent a bike and bike up across the north bridge to Palapa Bar for lunch or grab a Belikin beer. Palapa Bar is over the water and offers great views of the sea, blue skies and barrier reef. Great place for lunch and to spend a relaxed afternoon filled with tropical drinks, Belizean beer and chats with friendly Belizean staff. Note: you can also rent a golf cart for an afternoon of exploration.
Chicken Drop at Wahoo Lounge – Have no plans for the evening. Stop at Wahoo Lounge located on the beach in San Pedro Town. Every Thursday night they have a local band playing on the beach outside the bar. It is highlighted by the “chicken drop”. A big fenced board is brought out, you purchase a ticket, and a well fed chicken is brought out. Guess what the chicken will do? The lucky winner takes $100 to $1000 dollars depending on the number of players. It gets hilarious!!
Make some of the Belizean culture part of your adventure and make plans to visit Black and White Garifuna Cultural Entertainment Center for a taste of Gariganu food; dance to the unique African drum beats; and learn about Gariganu practise and beliefs.
