Luring in visitors due to its close proximity to the reef, its natural beauty and easy access to outdoor marine activities, making it a popular favorite amongst travelers. Ambergris Caye, stretching 25 miles and a little over one-mile-wide, is roughly 35 miles northeast of Belize City. The town of Ambergis Caye is known as San Pedro. San Pedro Town was a fishing village before it became the tourism destination that it is today. There is a welcoming, informal “vibe” to La Isla Bonita and the main methods of transportation are golf carts and bicycles.
Staying on the island beachfront is a very relaxed place to be. When not taking in the view of the sea from your private balcony at SunBreeze Suites, make the Belize Barrier Reef your playground. In San Pedro, Belize there is some of the best diving and snorkeling in the world with the largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere about half a mile from the seashore.
Apart from exceptional diving and snorkeling, the island also offers incredible fishing. Anglers all over the world come to experience Belize Fly fishing and/or spin fishing in the flats for Bonefish, Permit, and Tarpon or Reef fishing. Of course, where great fishing and tourists come together you can expect plenty of fantastic seafood at almost every restaurant in town. On the island, there are many great entertainments and dining options. So while island life can be simple, indulge with added layers of comforts.
