Belize Frequently Asked Questions

From Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE), you can take a 17-minute hopper flight (surcharge) to the San Pedro Air Strip or you can take a 25-minute taxi ride (surcharge) to the water taxi terminal in Belize City where you can take a 1 1/2 hour water taxi (surcharge) to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. If you are arriving via water taxi the Ocean Ferry Belize is just about 20 feet south of the hotel and the San Pedro Belize Express is just about 60 feet south of the hotel. Taxies are readily available if you wish to hire one, and it will cost approximately US$ 5.00. The San Pedro Airstrip is about a 10 minutes walk from SunBreeze Suites, and a taxi service is available right outside the terminal. The cost is about US$5.00. Bellman services are available to assist you to your room and with your luggage.

A pitcher of purified water is placed in your suite during daily maid service. A fountain of purified water is available on each floor for guests to refill as desired.

The Belize dollar is locked at $2 Belize = $1 USD. The USD is also widely accepted in Belize. Majors credit cards such as VISA and MasterCard are also widely accepted, though some small pocket cash money is recommended for purchases at local vendor stands, or small local restaurants. ATMs are available in all cities and towns of Belize. Right across from SunBreeze Suites is The Belize Bank which has an ATM and accepts all cards bearing the VISA, MasterCard, Plus, and Cirrus logos.

Tipping is optional. A standard 10% to 15% is customary.

Airport Departure Fees are generally included in the airline ticket. Where it is not included in the ticket price, passengers must pay upon departing Departure Fees of US $71.00. This can be paid with Credit Card, US or BZ Cash.

SunBreeze Suites is centrally located in San Pedro town making it walking distance from many restaurants, bars, shops, and other entertainment options. You can also choose to explore the island by golf cart. Our concierge tour desk can assist with helping you arrange a rental.

Yes. In order to enter Belize, every single visitor – no matter your nationality – must test negative to be cleared for entry into the country. Tourists may bring a negative test or you can take a Covid-19 test at the airport for US$50.00 per person.

Yes the hotel is a Gold Standard Approved Hotel.

No you won’t. Once you showcase your negative results you will be allowed to move freely in Belize.

There are no exit requirements to leave Belize. However the CDC is requiring negative Covid-19 tests to be gotten prior to arrival in some final destinations such as Canada and the US.

Visitors who test positive will be moved to a mandatory quarantine hotel at their own expense until cleared as negative. This mandatory 14-day quarantine following a positive test applies to both tourists and Belizeans.
